About ShannX
Two families, one hillside, four things worth shipping
ShannX Group brings Himalayan Premium Dog Chews to Europe: hard cheese chews made in Nepal, 100% natural, high in protein, and long-lasting. Distributed by ShannX Group DOO.

We are four people and one warehouse. We buy twice a year, at prices the co-op sets, and we publish what reaches them. Nothing here is a house brand of someone else's factory.

How a kitchen argument turned into a container
2021
400 bars, one pallet
Air-freighted, badly packed, sold out in a fortnight to people we knew.
2022
The co-op sets the price
We stopped negotiating downwards and started publishing the share instead.
2024
Tea, because it was there
The same families pick leaf in April. Adding it halved the freight cost per kilo.
2026
Sea freight only
One container a season out of Kolkata. Slower, a tenth of the carbon.
Four rules we have not broken yet
They cost us range and they cost us margin. They are also the only reason this is interesting.

One ingredient, or say why
If a product needs a binder or a flavour, we do not make it.
02
The co-op names the price
We publish the share of retail that reaches them, every season.
03
No plastic in the parcel
Kraft, paper tape, steel tins. It costs more and ships heavier.
04
Four products, no line extensions
Every new SKU is a reason to buy less carefully. We would rather not.
The four of us
Two in Rotterdam, two in Myagdi. The phone rings at odd hours.

Marijke de Vries
Rotterdam · buying, logistics
Ran a coffee import desk for nine years. Owns the dog that started this.

Sunita Gurung
Myagdi · production
Third generation in the dairy. Decides when a pressing is ready.

Bikash Thapa
Myagdi · tea
Plucks, fires and grades the leaf. Writes most of the harvest notes.

Joost Bakker
Rotterdam · everything else
Packs parcels, answers the inbox, argues about packaging tape.
